The tip for the mate's service is not included in the bill for your charter. It's often customary to tip your mate(s) a total of 15-20% of the charter price, similar to a restaurant worker.
All shoes worn should be soft-soled. While it may seem impractical, it helps protect the boat from paint chipping and other slight damage. If you're unsure if your soles are soft vs hard and you'd like to wear them, bring them with you and ask the Captain / Deckhand.
While we recommend close toed shoes, however they aren't required. We recommend it due the large amount of materials on the boats being unforgiving to exposed feet.
It is preferred to use a stick style or lotion-based sunscreen rather than spray. If you wish to use it, we may just simply ask you to move to certain sections of the boat, as sunscreen can / will affect the bait that's on the table if sprayed.
We strongly encourage people to read the weather before choosing your outfit. If its supposed to be barely warm, bring a jacket for the ride out. If it's supposed to warm nicely, feel free to bring shorts out with you.
The boat does not provide food and drink as a standard. If you'd like us to cater food and drinks for you, its an additional fee. We recommend packing enough water to sustain everyone, as well as whatever else food or beverage you wish.
Miss Atlantic City provides rods and reels to all charters. You're more than welcome to bring your personal rod and reel. While we can't stop you from rigging how you wish, the expertise of the crew can be invaluable.
If you tend to get sea sick, or have a family history of it, it's recommended to take motion sickness medication. It's encouraged to take the medication as prescribed on the bottle.
Our Vessels come equipped with all necessary equipment to be certified by the United States Coast Guard. You're welcome to being you're own jacket for yourself, or your children, but are ultimately not required due to vessel design and regulations.
Anything medicinal is allowed to be taken on the boat. In accordance with the CG, Miss Atlantic City Inc will not allow any illegal drugs onboard, everything must be both legal in NJ and Federally.
Miss Atlantic City is certified to carry up to 35 passengers on board at any time. This is tested by weighting one side of the vessel, under strict supervision of CG Engineers, and Mathematicians calculating how far the boat will roll without flipping with a 10ft storm wave breaking against the opposite side.
The CG requires us to carry approved jacket designs. You're welcome to bring your own but in the event of an emergency we will remove you jacket, and don a jacket provided by the vessel to you.
The CG of the United States requires us to have life rings on each deck of the vessels. They are incase someone is in the water, and are multipurpose. They can be used to help keep someone afloat, as well as drag them closer to the boat for recovery.
Life Rafts are essential in vessels in grave distress. the USCG requires all passengers be able to fit inside the lifeboats, to be certified for offshore trips. This is why the Miss Atlantic City is equipped with two rafts, to hold its 35 passengers and 2 crew.
Flares and Distress Beacons are pivotal in search & rescue, thus we've been required to equip them to our boats. They allow for easier view and a more precise location of where the emergency is happening for if something does happen.
